The house Krempljeva ulica 1 in Ptuj was built by Conrad II. Fürst and his wife Caroline in 1899. Until 1945 it was seat of the famous wine trading company Conrad Fürst & Söhne (founded in 1821) and residence of the family. Conrad II. died in 1922, Conrad III. took over house and company. At the end of World War II the Fürsts had to leave the country and went to Austria where they continued the wine business until 1971. According to the denationalization law the building was returned to Walter Fürst, son of Conrad III. in 2009. In 2010 his son Gerhart Conrad V. renovated the facade and renewed the roof. Now the house again is seat of the refounded wine company Conrad Fürst & Söhne and location for the incubator project and cultural area »Fürstova hiša«.
